About

A German comedian gave us the idea when he said Brexit sounded ‘like cat food from LIDL’ supermarket! To which our cats said, “Yum, I can haz Brexit plz?”

Why?

The Heute-show is a German satirical current affairs programme, presented by Oliver Welke. Brexit is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. And kittens? Well kittens are just cute, who doesn’t need more kittens in their day?

We, like many other in the UK and around the world, have been following the Brexit debate. We decided there was a need to collect and share media coverage on Brexit. Not only just the serious stuff, but the absurd and bizarre also, the satire and comedy about Brexit. Kittens for Brexit takes a satirical look at the stories and people behind Brexit and the United Kingdom’s forthcoming referendum on whether they should remain part of the European Union or leave. Of course lets not forget about the kittens; kittens are affected by Brexit too!

Brexit

On 23rd June 2016 the British people will vote on whether they want to remain part of the European Union or exit. Government ministers and MPs are free to campaign and vote as their conscience dictates, rather than following the more usual rule of collective cabinet responsibility. Voting polls show very close results and as the referendum date draws closer, campaigning and competition for votes grows fierce. And in many cases absurd! Everyone wants his or her say and we are enjoying it all.

Kittens for Brexit collects together the best of Brexit humour, with a dash of the serious to keep things balanced.

We select Brexit articles from the media, Internet and twitter and bring them together in one easy to find location. If you want to keep up to date with the Brexit debate, this is the place to be. ‘Yum, I can haz Brexit plz!”.
